Electrical Supervisor – Turkana, Kenya

Our client, a Professional Services Business that delivers projects, provides expertise in engineering, procurement and construction, is looking for an Electrical Supervisor for its project in Turkana. The successful candidate’s main responsibility will be to supervise the electrical installation work performed by contractors and ensure contractors perform according to project requirements, industry best practice while complying with safe working procedures and the schedule constraints of the project.

Key Responsibilities ;

• Review, study and understand the contractors' construction methodology with regards to electrical installation works..
• Liaise and co-ordinate between the site contracting teams, the construction manager, engineers and the clients’ representative to ensure problems are solved quickly and proactively.
• Attend weekly construction meetings with contractors as construction and/or electrical representative.
• Observe and inspect the work performed by electrical contractors on site, ensuring building compliance as per drawings, specs, electrical safety and electrical code.
• Review all site based QCP’s related to electrical work.
• Ensure contractors produce and deliver the necessary data books and/or documentation as required under contract.
• Carry out daily quality inspections of all electrical related work.
• Assist in driving contractors to complete punch lists and closeout of NCR's by contractors.
• Complete and submit daily paperwork for site activities performed during inspection.
• Assist the planning department with construction input, analyze rate of progress and quantity of resources against available time.
• Ensure Safety requirements, Quality and Environmental procedures are met, completed and compiled in QA/QC during construction work.

Qualifications;

• Electrical engineering degree.
• Electrical trade test.
• 5-10 years of experience working as a site electrical supervisor.
• Ability to read and understand single line diagrams, P&ID’s and electrical requirements as well as follow general construction drawings.
• Fluent in Swahili & English.
• Excellent  communication skills.
• Computer skills, i.e. Ms Office.
• Drivers license.
• Wind turbine environment experience advantageous.

Monthly gross salary: Ksh. 200,000 - 250,000/= (Approx. 2,000 - 2,500 USD) depending on experience
